Chez Reel’s musical journey started early, deeply connected to his father’s rhythm as a drummer in Africa. Growing up, he and his brothers would spin their father’s records at home, filled with Afrobeat, soul, and funk. Then, in the early ’90s, new sounds from the US—hip hop and house—began to shape the music scene. While most were drawn to hip hop, Chez Reel naturally gravitated toward house music.
In 1991, he started working weekends at the flea market in Paris and discovered the legendary Momo Records shop, sparking his collection journey. The MK2 turntables followed in 1995, and since then, his passion for house music has only grown stronger.
